Welcome to Finaiver(“we,” “our,” or “us”). We operate a fintech and AI finance blog together with a curated set of free tools (calculators and optional AI-assisted analyzers listed on our Tools page). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit or interact with our website and services. By using Finaiver, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Comments: When you leave a comment on a blog article, we collect the name and email address you enter along with your comment text. Your email is never displayed publicly.
• Newsletter Signup: If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address solely to send you updates and new content.
• Contact Form: When you reach out through our contact page, we collect your name, email address, and message content.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Analytics Data: Through Google Analytics 4 (GA4), we collect anonymized usage data such as pages visited, session duration, referral sources, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location.
• Advertising Data: Google AdSense may collect information and place cookies to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your browsing history and interests.
• Consent Mode (Google): We use Google Consent Mode v2. Signals such as ad storage, analytics storage, ad user data, and ad personalization default to denied until you accept non-essential cookies (or as otherwise required). For personalized ads in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google requires a certified CMP—complete Privacy & messaging in your AdSense account and set the script URL in NEXT_PUBLIC_GOOGLE_CMP_SCRIPT_URL so it loads on this site.
• Log Data: Our hosting provider may automatically log your IP address, browser type, operating system, and request timestamps for security and performance purposes.

2.3 Admin Account Data

Administrative accounts are created exclusively by the site’s Super Admin. If you are an administrator, we store your name, email address, and hashed password. Admin authentication is handled by NextAuth.js and is not available to general visitors.

3. Financial calculators & AI-assisted tools

3.1 Browser-only calculators

Our loan EMI and compound interest calculators run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are not sent to our servers for calculation. When you close or refresh the page, that input is discarded from the page state.

3.2 AI-assisted tools (server processing)

The AI Financial Analyst, AI Expense Categorizer, and AI Budget Forecaster send the text or structured inputs you submit to our secure API so we can return an analysis or forecast. Our servers forward the minimum necessary content to our configured AI inference provider to generate that response. We do not use your submissions to train third-party models, and we do not sell your prompts or uploads. Inputs may appear transiently in application logs for reliability and abuse prevention and are not kept as a permanent “profile” of you. Do not paste confidential account numbers, government identifiers, or secrets into these tools.

4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Groq (AI inference):When you use our AI-assisted tools, prompts are processed by Groq’s API to generate responses. Groq Privacy Policy
• Microsoft Clarity: If enabled on our deployment, may record anonymized session replays and engagement data when you accept non-essential cookies. Microsoft Privacy Statement
• NextAuth.js: An open-source authentication library used exclusively for admin login sessions. It sets secure HTTP-only session cookies. NextAuth.js does not transmit your data to any external service.

7. Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored in MongoDB Atlas with encryption at rest and in transit. We retain data for the following periods:

• Comments: Retained indefinitely while the associated article remains published, unless you request deletion.
• Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.
• Contact form messages: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Admin accounts: Retained for as long as the account is active.
• Analytics data: Governed by Google Analytics retention settings (default 14 months).
• Ad-related cookies: Governed by Google AdSense policies.

8. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:

• Service Providers: With the third-party services listed in Section 6, strictly for the purposes described.
• Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Safety: To protect the rights, property, or safety of Finaiver, our users, or others.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, HTTP-only session cookies, and secure database hosting.
